So what? Feedback from participants
The project sought to build relationships and friendships between the communities of Irvinestown and Glaslough, which it did in a very enjoyable way. In the spirit of the intergenerational approach suggested both young and not so young have had the opportunity to come together, share experiences and explore memories.
The welcomes extended by both communities demonstrated the real and genuine commitment to the project and the warmth and hospitality of both areas, and here’s what you said about the project.....................
“I couldn’t believe the welcome the young people from Glaslough gave us, they were so nice, I really enjoyed the visit, we want to meet up again, maybe we could work together on a dram production, and they were fantastic!”

I would like to thank the people of Irvinestown for having us down on Friday night. It was really a fantastic night and we all really enjoyed ourselves. We were very inspired by the celebration of volunteering and the acknowledgement of the tremendous efforts of ordinary people, it really made the occasion extra special when Patsy and Ann from Glaslough were honoured as well; they were totally shocked but delighted.

Just a note to thank the organisers / funders for the wonderful trip we had to Glaslough, the chance to meet with the lovely people from Glaslough was much appreciated and we had a great laugh comparing our photographs, seems despite our distance we had much in common. The tour of the Castle was an unexpected bonus and one that we will never forget; such a lovely day can’t wait to see our pictures on the web site.

“We had great fun meeting the people from Irvinestown, we were able to show them pictures from the old days and we looked at their pictures too. Some of theirs were a bit like ours, they used to have a railway station in olden times and so had we.”
